Neuro Rehab

Your Story:

You’ve started to feel a strange tingling or numbness in your arm or leg. Maybe it’s a sharp, shooting pain that travels down from your neck or lower back. It might come and go, or it might be constant. You’ve tried stretching or resting, but it’s not improving—and now you’re wondering if it’s something more than just a muscle strain.

Or perhaps you or a loved one has been diagnosed with a neurological condition like Parkinson’s or has recently had a stroke. Movements feel slower, balance is off, or everyday tasks are becoming more difficult.

What’s Going On?

Neuro rehab focuses on nerve-related pain and neurological conditions. This includes issues where nerves are compressed, irritated, or inflamed, as well as conditions that affect movement, coordination, and balance due to changes in the brain or nervous system. Physiotherapy can help by freeing up nerves, improving mobility, and retraining the body to move more efficiently and confidently.

Cervical Radiculopathy (Neck Nerve Pain)

You feel pain or tingling that travels from your neck into your shoulder or arm. This is often caused by a trapped nerve in the neck, due to disc bulge or joint inflammation. Treatment focuses on nerve gliding, postural correction, and manual therapy to relieve pressure.

Sciatica

You feel a sharp or burning pain that runs from your lower back down the back of your leg. This is a classic sign of sciatic nerve irritation, often due to a disc issue or tightness in the glutes or piriformis. Treatment includes nerve mobilisation, core strengthening, and manual release.

Peripheral Nerve Entrapments

You have numbness or tingling in your hand or foot—maybe carpal tunnel in the wrist or tarsal tunnel in the ankle. These are caused by nerves being compressed in narrow spaces. Physiotherapy can help by releasing soft tissue, improving nerve mobility, and reducing inflammation.

Post-Stroke or Neurological Conditions

You or a loved one may be recovering from a stroke, multiple sclerosis, or Parkinson’s disease. Neuro rehab helps improve balance, coordination, strength, and independence through targeted rehabilitation.

Specialised Parkinson’s Therapy – LSVT BIG

If you’ve been diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, you may have noticed your movements becoming smaller, slower, or less automatic. LSVT BIG is a research-based physiotherapy programme designed specifically for Parkinson’s. It focuses on amplifying movement, retraining the brain to move with bigger, more purposeful actions. The programme is intensive and highly individualised, helping people regain confidence in walking, reaching, and everyday tasks. It’s one of the most effective ways to maintain mobility and independence as the condition progresses.
